Another thing. Sometimes the lines crossed have nothing to do with the game, per se, at all. Sometimes IWNAY means you stick with the people and work it out, whatever ???it??? is. I think the highest tension, worst breakdown in the Meg-Vincent-Emily game may have been when Emily and I collided over what the town should look like, and whose vision/version of the (very sketchy) ???map??? was better/clearer/more accurate.

SF go "You fight over maps?"
Not sex, not violence, not God, but the map? That's fascinating. I love making up maps and worldbuilding too, so I can sympathize. But still: Why so invested in the map?
MT go "I suspect it's not so uncommon..."
Probably the place where Brand and I cross in RP most is the maps. We both have very different spatial imaginations, and physical layout (be it a whole city or a room) will occasionally become an issue because we have been forging on ahead both thinking that we're on the same page and then all of a sudden we start having clashes over little physical world details that trip us violently up in play. Essentially we come to a sudden hard realization that we no longer have a common SIS. When the emotional intensity is cranked up and trust and partnership is critical, little things like that can *become* the line.
